Education Team

Emily Whyte

Education Manager [She/Her]

Emily manages the development, delivery and evaluation of the education work in primary, secondary and SEND schools as well as PRUs and youth centres across Greater London. She manages the work alongside various partners including VAWG and sport-sector organisations. You’re most likely to find her developing and quality assuring projects, supporting partners and measuring the brilliant impact of Tender’s work!
Her highlights of the job include working with a diverse range of children, young people, teachers, partners and workshop facilitators.

Sophie Connolly

Sophie Connolly

Education Coordinator [She/Her]

Sophie also works mostly within our projects based in Greater London, alongside this she specialises in our SEND work, most recently developing a new and improved SEND plan including a specialised staff and trusted adult training. You’re most likely to find her having a good chat with a partner organisation or school on the phone!
Sophie has loved creating and adapting Tender’s work to be inclusive and accessible so that all young people can learn how to have happy and healthy relationships.

Leah Brown-Edwards

Education Intern [She/Her]

Leah has just joined the Tender Team as Education Intern and will be supporting the Education Team for 12 months. This position is kindly funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation.

Youth Engagement Team

Lucy Angell-John

Youth Engagement Manager [She/Her]

Lucy manages the projects that are delivered outside of schools tailored to specific groups, for example young people at risk of homelessness, young refugees and young people in alternative education. You’re most likely to find her using the creative arts to encourage critical thinking, self-care and self-expression either in the office or down in Croydon with the Whole School Approach team!
The last 10 years of Lucy’s professional life has been dedicated to working in the violence against women and girls’ sector, Tender is an organisation that enables her to continue developing her work in exciting, innovative ways with a diverse range of people.

Bradley O'Donoghue

Youth Engagement Coordinator [He/Him]

Bradley’s role focusses on engaging young people from out of school settings, he manages the Youth Facilitator programme alongside the development and delivery of our sexual violence work in Sixth Form and Universities. You’re most likely to find him coordinating a Youth Board meeting or coming up with new ways to sustain leaning and participation post project delivery.
He works for Tender because he believes in the power of providing young people with opportunities to change the discussion around the issues that affect them.

National Partnership Network

David Stothard

National Partnership Manager [He/Him]

David manages all of the schools delivery that takes place outside of London. He is responsible for establishing, maintain and developing new and existing partnerships across the UK alongside supporting the regional teams to deliver their Healthy Relationships work. You’re most likely to find him on the move, travelling to a partner organisation or from a project!
His favourite part of the job is getting to travel all over the country and see the impact that Tender is having on a national scale.

Ruth Scott

National Partnerships & Office Coordinator [She/Her]

Ruth has two jobs rolled into one, she keeps the London based office up-and-running along with supporting the regional National Partnership work. You’re most likely to find her troubleshooting a technical error or prepping some project resources!
Her highlight of the role so far has been representing Tender at public events and introducing new people to the wonderful work we do – the more people who know about our work, the better.

Daisy Douglas

Avon & Somerset Hub Manager [She/Her]

Daisy is based in Bath in Avon & Somerset and spends her time connecting and creating collaborations with local schools and organisations, delivering projects and training staff. You’re most likely to find her cracking jokes and looking after others – both staff and young people!
Daisy likes (loves) working for Tender because they put heart into everything they do, and passionately believes in hearing young peoples’ voices.

Angharad Turner-Fielder

West Yorkshire Hub Coordinator [She/Her]

Angharad is thrilled to be able to bring Tender’s excellent Healthy Relationships project to schools across West Yorkshire where she has experience of working for frontline services that work with hard-to-reach women who face multiple and complex disadvantages. You’re most likely to find her challenging preconceptions on a project!
Angharad loves seeing young people’s minds engaging with the subject of healthy relationships and seeing their opinions change throughout the projects.

Michelle Thompson

Norfolk Hub Coordinator [She/Her]

After working for Tender in London for 6 years, Michelle was pleased to be able to bring Tender to Norfolk when she moved there last year. In her role she books and delivers projects in primary and secondary schools and youth settings. You’re most likely to find her travelling across the county and/or shouting about how brilliant Tender’s work is!
Michelle considers it a privilege seeing first-hand the impact of Tender’s work, engaging with young people in a safe and open way, encouraging their learning and empowering them to make positive and healthy choices.

Dr Sarah Cole

Devon Hub Coordinator [She/Her]

Sarah has just graduated from Exeter University after completing her PhD, ‘Exploring young people’s views and experiences of domestic violence and abuse; and the role of education’. It is through her research journey that she forged a positive and fruitful relationship with Tender and in 2016 this alliance enabled Tender’s National Partnership to extend to Devon. You’re most likely to find Sarah engaged in a thoughtful discussion or liaising with a new setting for a project!

Sarah hopes that through this work she goes some way to making a difference so that nobody ever has to be in the position where they need to recover from violence and abuse.

Whole School Approach Project

Leah Bedward

Whole School Approach Manager [She/Her]

Leah works for Tender as the Whole School Approach Manager – a campaign which was recently funded the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) to be delivered with pupils, parents, carers and staff in Croydon Schools until 2020. You’re most likely to find her delivering a relaxing session with young people in one of the four schools!

Development Team

Susie McDonald

Chief Executive [She/Her]

Susie set up Tender’s Healthy Relationship Programme in 2004 and in 2010 became Chief Executive, she has used theatre for social change for over 25 years and continues to do so spearheading Tender’s innovative approach to healthy relationships education. You’re most likely to find her delivering a training session and passing on her invaluable expertise in this area!

Chloe Edwards

Head of Development [She/Her]

Chloe has just joined the Tender team as Head of Development and looks forward to seeing what the role will bring.

Doireann Larkin

Development Manager [She/Her]

Doireann has been working with Tender since 2009 occupying a range of roles, she currently manages the trusts and foundations fundraising as well as developing and delivering training and research projects within the charity. You’re most likely to find her working on a funding application or out delivering a training session!

Kate Lexén

Programme Manager [She/Her]

Kate’s role oversees all the programmes that Tender delivers from London to the regional work and includes both schools and out-of-school settings. You’re most likely to find her supporting a project manager or keeping all our policies up to date!

Cordelia Morrison

Relationships Officer [She/Her]

Following two years in the Education team, Cordi now supports the Development team in identifying areas of growth for Tender and building positive relationships with decision-makers, creatives and other charities to support this development. You’re most likely to find her creating an exciting new partnership with the wider community or coordinating Tender’s volunteer programme!
Cordi could list many brilliant things about working for Tender, but her top two include the charity’s commitment to centering the voices of young people, and routinely being mistaken as working for Tinder.

Consultants

Dorota Small

Finance Manager [She/Her]

Dorota has worked as a bookkeeper since 2003, she specialises in charities’ accounts and is one of Tender’s longest serving team members. She originally comes from Poland and has lived, studied and worked in the UK since 1997. You’re most likely to find her using her years of experience at Tender to solve one of our problems, thanks Dorota!

Dawn Howley

Training Consultant [She/Her]

Dawn splits her time between Tender and other charities and brings her expert knowledge and experience to our adult training programme, developing and delivering high-quality tailored sessions for corporate organisations. You’re most likely to find her building new relationships and coming up with new training sessions!
