Preparing for adulthood

Young people aged 16-24 are the age group most likely to experience relationship abuse. As they gain independence, enter new environments and embark on new relationships, young people need the skills and confidence to navigate these changes in a healthy way.

Effective relationships education can support Key Stage 5 students as they transition into adulthood. Our work helps students understand the complexities of relationships: how to recognise harmful ones, and how to build positive, healthy connections which enrich their lives.

What do students get from our work with them?

A rehearsal for life

We bring relationships education to life through drama and the arts. Using characters, role play and script work, we help students to explore complex topics, develop empathy and “rehearse” for real life interactions.

New skills for a new chapter

Discussing relationships can be difficult. We facilitate a fun, inclusive space where students can ask questions and unpack topics at their own pace: building confidence and communication skills that they can take forward into their adult lives.

Meeting modern needs

Relationship education is crucial in today’s digital world. Our projects equip young people with the skills to lead healthy online social lives, and to navigate influences on their relationships with a critical eye.

Healthy Relationships

Our Healthy Relationships projects engage young people in conversations about healthy and unhealthy relationships, where to find support, and how to be an ambassador for equality and respect.

Why use drama?

Drama and the arts have long been recognised as powerful tools for engaging young people in challenging social issues. As well as being an engaging and fun way to learn, there are a myriad of other benefits to learning in this way.
