Healthy Relationships for sixth forms & colleges

Embark on a transformative two-day journey with your students. Our expert facilitators will guide them through activities which support them to build healthy relationships, recognise harmful ones, and develop their peer mentoring and presentation skills.

Our two-day Healthy Relationships project is suitable for one class of students from Years 12 or 13, and concludes by creating a performance or presentation to share key learnings with their peers.

What we will achieve

  • Identifying what makes healthy and unhealthy relationships
  • Recognising early warning signs (or ‘red flags’) of unhealthy relationships
  • ‘Rehearsing’ personal boundaries and consent
  • More awareness of human rights issues, with a specific focus on violence against women & girls
  • Developing awareness of where to seek and signpost support.

What’s the benefit?

Necessary & relevant education

Young people aged 16-24 are at the highest risk of experiencing relationship abuse (ONS, 2022). Our projects provide a safe, engaging space to discuss relationships and develop social skills.

Preparation for adulthood

Transitioning into work, training or further education can come with significant change. Our projects prepare students to form healthy relationships, whatever their next step may be.

Knowing where to get support

Every young person should have access to support if they need it. We’ll ensure every student can identify what good support looks like and who they can turn to in and out of their college.

Tender

The most impressive thing about Tender is their ability to challenge and confront stereotypical or antiquated views in a way which neither shames nor makes anyone feel inferior. All opinions are heard and everyone is made to feel safe and valued. In creating this dynamic, views shift in a way that empowers young people to change their minds instead of making them feel chided or lectured. The skill of the workshop leaders is second to none in this regard.

Flexible projects

We understand the demands of a busy schedule. We can deliver our projects in a range of formats, including across two whole days or two-hour sessions over a series of weeks. Get in touch to see if we can build a project to fit your timetable.

How we do it

Drama and the arts have long been recognised as powerful tools for engaging young people in social issues. During our Healthy Relationships projects, participants meet and create characters, experiment with scripts, and share and listen to ideas. This helps them rehearse for real life, learn from mistakes and discover boundaries in a safe, fun and creative way.
