Whole-institution approach
RE:SET Universities supports universities and student unions to review their current performance in the prevention of domestic abuse and sexual violence and embed effective sustainable prevention in their campus culture; empowering, supporting and educating their staff and students.
How does it work?
Universities access and complete our online portal of activities over 18 months and are recognised with the Excellence in Prevention Award on completion.
The framework includes auditing, training, policy and service updates, and student engagement, whilst equipping senior leaders and frontline staff with the knowledge and skills to lead the sector in preventing gendered violence and developing a positive campus culture.
What’s the benefit?
Prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence in the lives of students.
16-25s are the age group most likely to experience domestic abuse (ONS, 2020), and a 2018 survey by Revolt Sexual Assault found that 62% of students and recent graduates reported experiencing sexual assault or sexual violence at university. Universities have a responsibility to respond to these issues, but it can seem like an insurmountable problem, which is where the structure and expert guidance provided by Tender can be invaluable.
Demonstrate your commitment
Successfully completing the RE:SET Universities programme offers you a three year award to commend your efforts and demonstrate to current and prospective students, staff and partner organisations how important this work is to your university. As a result, students feel safer to report issues, creating a more positive university environment. Tender offers ongoing support, branding and logos which you can display online to showcase your success.
A consistent campus-wide approach
RE:SET Universities addresses these issues across the university instead of being restricted to one department. Training is available for staff and student leaders who have a widespread impact and Tender supports universities to carry out high impact student engagement in creative ways.
